Water in Bauhalle !! Pay attention

Pay attention that in all sinks in REF laboratories there is no drinking water.
Use the kitchen sinks to get drinking water.
The waterline will be renewed and we will inform if you can drink all sink water again.

The successor for Tomi Jaggi was chosen and will start in January 2026. From mid of October Bauhallenteam will therefore be limited in resources.

Bauhallenteam will support the following non IBK groups in experimental research:
– Group de Wolf
– Group Boltshauser
– Group Dillenburger (in discussion, Kaufmann)
Projects of these groups do not require a supporting IBK professor, since they give a contribution to the experimental budget of IBK.

Equipment Inspection

Pay attention to check the green label for all electric devices before you use it (in laboratories).
Equipment Inspection is mandatory at ETH and you can contact Bauhallenteam for support. Also Martin Huber manages test equipment fo the safety check at D-BAUG which can be used by trained persons.

Vibration specifications for the HPQ building ensure, that there are many restrictions to other groups on Hönggerberg. In IBK the Hexapod of Eleni can not be placed in Bauhalle.
Also D-PHYS wants to limit dynamic forces in laboratories.

Summer = vacation time

When planning experiments, please pay attention to the summer vacation of Bauhallenteam.

4.4MN Teststand

The 4.4MN teststand on the new strongfloor is getting an update.
Group Frangi is using it for compression tests on timber columns and improves the setup to also make it future proof.

  the Schenck machines should have a service and there is a defect on the large machines column sealing. A quotation is available (about CHF 140k, including new electronics).
• Fork Lift 5t
  IBK owns the Linde 5t forklift, which is about 25 years old. Quotations are in house for a replacement. The purchase decision should be made based on the “experimental research @ D-BAUG” decision which is discussed in Zukunftskommission.

Together with Roberto we are updating all Computers in Bauhalle to Windows 11. That causes to replace hardware which is no longer compatible to the new OS.
