Introduction to experimental research @ IBK

HIF (+) restoration
UPDATE
- Limitations in storage and experimental space are ongoing
- MAST and LUSET and HEXAPOD are mothballed for phase 3.2 until February 2023. Climate monitoring is performed by IBK.
- Offices Bauhalle – IBK will get two rooms, HIF D80.3 / D80.4 for Bauhallenteam and additional desks. Those can also be used by persons working in Bauhalle.
Schedule refurbishment Bauhalle:
- The main entrance of HIF will be finished till end of October 2022. Till then you have to expect detours.
- HIF phase 2
By December 16th 2022 the middle tract of HIF will be opened. - HIF phase 3.2
Phase 3.2 (middle part of Bauhalle) will be refurbished till end of February 2023!
HPQ – construction site
construction tasks started already. Influences for IBK are expected with deliveries to Bauhalle / the HIF courtyard. More information can be found in the link below:

Safety
The D-BAUG audit sent a report with points to be solved depending safety inside experimental labs. Bauhallenteam is working on it.
There will also be a pilot project of SGU which plans to have group safety officers in the future.
Procurement
SEP-proposal
A prioritized list of planned D-BAUG SEP requests > 50,000 CHF (if known) for 2023 must be submitted to equipment@sl.ethz.ch no later than January 15, 2023. The list must include information on the type of equipment, own contribution (Department, PIs, R’Equip), and expected SEP contribution. Prioritization does not preempt an Equipment Commission decision.
SEP requests from the D-BAUG must be reported to the Department (DP, Coordinator) no later than Tuesday, January 10, 2023 with the necessary information (see above).
