HIF (+) restoration

UPDATE

  • There were and will be several shut offs in the supply of building services in the next weeks!
  • Cause of dangerous construction works, parts of HIF building have to be closed in the next weeks. This means that you have to take detours.
  • Bauhalle area 3.1 is ready to be used again. There is no compressed air, cooling water and high voltage (400v@400A) yet.
  • Limitations in storage and experimental space are ongoing
  • MAST and LUSET and HEXAPOD are mothballed for phase 3.2 of the refurbishment. Climate monitoring is solved by IBK.
  • Closed room solution for a requested storage room: A solution is found. IBK gets a proper room in HIF floor B, close to the elevator.
  • An extension of the Bauhallenoffice with connecting the rooms HIF D80.3 and HIF 80.4 is planned.

Schedule refurbishment Bauhalle:

  • Main entrance, staircase HIF
    By end of October the final solution of HIF entrance should be usable.
  • HIF phase 2
    By end of December 2022 the middle tract of HIF will be opened. That also includes the big side labs C34/C36 of IBK.
  • HIF phase 3.2
    Phase 3.2 (middle part of Bauhalle) will be refurbished till end of January 2023 – information with current delay times!

HIF – Storage

The refurbished part of Bauhalle (area 3.1) includes new palette shelves. A labeling system will be introduced to build up a storage management platform, where locations of material and responsibilities will be tracked.

Procurement

  • Hexapod (Chatzi) – delivered – mothballed, final location unclear
  • FIRE Simulator (Frangi) , delivery Oktober 2022 – lab space in construction
  • Vibrophore (Taras) – location in Bauhalle proposed
  • 15MN machine (Taras)
  • Replacement of Walter&Bai testing machine – SEP contract entered
  • outdoor storage space – GMIS proposal in preparation
