Safety Introduction

all persons working in labs of IBK have to attend the safety introduction course. Please inform concerning persons.

Coronavirus emergency mode

Experimental research is possible following the ETH master plan:

All personal tasks in Bauhalle and IBK labs MUST BE scheduled by Friday of the privious week in the available Bauhallen outlook calendar!
Unplanned tasks will not be supported.

There will still be construction works around bauhalle which can influence experiments:

  • Noise (Health, Concentration, detection of experimental events..)
  • Vibration (measurement accuracy, Stability)
  • Dust (measurement accuracy, Health, equipment functionality)

Announcement of student projects

PROPOSE NEW PROJECT

Till 1st of July 10 Projects including students were proposed and accepted.
Not all groups did inform about “experienced lab users” (ELU) yet. Therefore ELUs of other groups can be asked to support projects.

HPQ – construction requirements

The planned HPQ building next to HIF sets vibration criteria on very low levels causing additional effort for other projects (Hexapod, Hochfrequenzpulsatore..).
To have a better understanding of the ground characteristics around the HPQ location group Chatzi with the PHYS department started a measurement campaign.

Procurement

  • Hexapod (Chatzi), decision made – MTS, will be delivered in July 2021
    Release with conditions was granted by Schulleitung for 2021.
  • Small fire furnace (Frangi) , decision made – E-TERM
    Project is granted by Schulleitung.
  • 1D laser scanner vibrometer (Chatzi)
  • Vibrophore (Taras)
  • Hexapod (Taras) (second priority)
  • 15MN machine (Taras) (first priority)
  • Replacement of Walter&Bai testing machine (IfB, IBK) – OK from IBK – IfB still pending
