Important: use username@ethz.ch (and not @math.ethz.ch) for configuration, then most of the configuration will be automatic.

Using your smartphone or tablet abroad:
It’s a good idea to use the VPN-client if you’re connecting to foreign networks as the data transfer will be encrypted.
Turn on WLAN or Bluetooth only if needed.

- Bluefire Reader (reader for AdobeDRM-protected epub-files)
- ETH EduApp (lecture timetables, maps)
- ETH Zürich (maps, events, mensa)
- Keepass (lets you store passwords securely; various versions)
- LEO Wörterbuch (translation from/to German)
- Maps (Google maps)
- Polybox (file storage on ETH servers)
- SBB Mobile (SBB timetable, tickets)
- search.ch (phonebook, weather, maps, timetable, cinema etc.)
- Skype (communicate with other people)

For Android
- AnyConnect (VPN-client, lets you connect securely to the ETH-network and use some commercial wireless networks; different versions available depending on OS version and device)

- GoodReader (document-viewer, annotation of pdf-documents, allows syncronisation with different kinds of servers; not free)
- iBooks (reader for pdf-, epub- and other documents)
- Photos (lets you edit and sort your fotos)
- Wikipanion (access to Wikipedia articles)
