We have two winners in the creative ideas competition for the information security awareness campaign.

The ETH members had the chance to participate in the competition for creative ideas for the next Information Security Awareness campaign until end of January 2020. We are very happy to announce that we now can award prizes to two participants in the competition. We will take their ideas under advisement for our planning of the coming campaign, which is to start in spring 2021.

The Internet first came to Switzerland around 30 years ago. It was called SWITCHlan, it linked the Swiss universities to one another and was intended exclusively for the research world. SWITCH therefore became the first Internet service provider in Switzerland. How did this development come about and to what extent has the Internet changed since then?

The 21st century has a lot to offer – smartphones, satnav devices, fibre broadband and much more. Such technology milestones have also made the organisation within IT Services much easier. Can you still remember what it used to be like to apply for computing time at ETH in writing? Fortunately, this necessary evil has been largely done away with.
