On September 20th the new semester began and with it a new Security Awareness campaign – «StickUp for SafeIT!».
Multimedia Services has been an official participant in the Opencast Matterhorn project since July 1 2009. Primary goal of this project is the development of an open source video management system. The first basic easy-to-install version Release 1.0, developed in collaboration with 12 other universities, is now available.
ETHIS stands for «ETH Information and Support Portal» and was launched in 2008 as a central platform for IS managers‘ administrative tasks by joint initiative of the following five infrastructure divisions: FC, HR, ITS, Real Estate and Rectorate.

Since the first of January 2010, collaboration between the ITS and D-BIOL has been newly regulated and starting July 1st 2010 cooperation with D-GESS will also be further developed. A common aspect that both departments share is a local ITS support group to work onsite at each department.
For all new employees at ETH a new brochure in German and English has recently been published on the Web. The new publication is a synopsis of the many ITS services available for ETH employees and includes hints and tips to facilitate work at ETH.
In its 1.5 hour presentation, «Win 7 and Office 2010 – What’s new?» ITS-Training provided an opportunity to discover new features in Windows 7 and MS Office 2010.

Collaboration between the ITS and D-GESS has been placed on a new footing. As of July 1st 2010, current SLAs, concluded with individual professorships, will be replaced by an integrated contract with D-GESS. The possibility of more efficient support structures and better cost-benefit results were important factors towards this decision. Read more
