Mathematische Ausdrücke auf Webseiten, das ist eine lange Leidensgeschichte. Seit einem Jahrzehnt wird an MathML gearbeitet, die bis heute in den Browser erfolgte Umsetzung reicht von passabel über unbrauchbar bis nicht existent.

Mit dem Javascript-basierten MathJax ist eine Lösung in Sicht, die wirklich funktioniert. MathJax basiert auf LaTeX und ist damit fest in der Welt der Wissenschaft verankert. Bei der Qualität der Darstellung mathematischer Ausdrücke ist LaTeX bis heute unübertroffen.

MathJax ist nun auf den Seiten unseres WCMS verfügbar, kann aber auch in andere Systeme integriert werden. Weitere Informationen und einige Beispiele sind in der WCMS-Dokumentation zu finden.

Mathematical expression on web pages, this has always been a sad story. For a decade, MathML has been a work in progress, and the capabilities of browsers to render MathML range from partially usable to nonexistent.

Javascript based MathJax presents a solution that really works. MathJax is based on LaTeX which has a long tradition in the world of science. The visual quality of mathematical expressions rendered by LaTeX is the best you can get.

MathJax is now available on pages provided by our WCMS service. Further information and some examples can be found in the WCMS documentation.
