Lecture as part of the Informatiktage 2025: The IT Services of ETH Zurich and IT-Women@ETH present the crucial role of IT security in biomedical research and provide insights into systems for detecting intruders to prevent the exfiltration of data.

Biomedical data contains sensitive personal information and is therefore a prime target for cybercriminals. On Tuesday, 25 March 2025, from 6:00 to 7:15 p.m., ETH Zurich’s IT Services invite you to a lecture that provides an overview of IT security in biomedical research. A particular focus is on the role of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) in preventing data exfiltration.

The lecture is aimed at young people aged 12 and up, interested members of the public, ETH members, researchers and students. The meeting point is in front of the fountain in the ETH main building (HG) at 6:00 pm. The number of participants is limited; please register online.
