Digital immersion: Creating learning experiences with virtual environments
With increasing technological developments, education is changing and becoming more complex, interconnected and digital. These changed circumstances require new and modified competences of students and lecturers alike. Education has to respond to the changing requirements in (working) life. To prepare for this, a technological-oriented teaching and learning process as well as gaining practical experience is crucial for students. In this context, Virtual Reality (Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality) technologies provide new opportunities for practical experience in higher education, where they can further intensify the students learning experiences to a more immersive and engaging involvement in the learning process.
- Dr. Beatrix Emo (D-GESS, Chair for Cognitive Science, Prof. Hölscher) will present “Mixed reality tools in architectural education: Exploring buildings from the inside out”.
- Raphael Lorenz (D-MTEC, Chair of Production and Operations Management, Prof. Netland) will presents: “Using Virtual Reality to teach Operations Management: Bring the factory to the students”.
We encourage you to bring your smartphone or mobile device and download the VRTour App ahead of time, so we can experience a virtual field trip together.
