Merging the virtual and the real worlds: Learning in mixed realities
In mixed realities, users immerse themselves in a hybrid world that includes both virtual and physical elements. This allows new access to objects that are not visible because they are too small or simply not present. Augmented Reality technology triggers new ways of learning with these objects. With the support of the Adrian Weiss Foundation LET launched a project called “Learning in Mixed Realities” last summer. For interested lecturers there are 12 HoloLenses available at the moment and connections to important resources. A call for projects is open now. Several project already used this opportunity and more are to come. In this Refresh Teaching event, three speakers from ETH Zurich will present how they embeded this cutting-edge technology in their teaching and learning environment.
Presenters:
- Dr. Jan Hiss, Inst. of Pharm. Sciences, Computer-Assisted Drug Design, D-CHAB
- Christian Sailer, Institut für Kartografie und Geoinformation, D-BAUG
- Dr. Urs Brändle, D-USYS
