Prof. Wicke is Chair of Systematic Botany and Biodiversity at the Humboldt-University of Berlin and director of the Späth-Arboretum. Prof. Wicke obtained her PhD at the University of Vienna and then moved to the University of Münster for a postdoctoral position, before becoming group leader and then assistant professor at the same university. Since April 2020 Prof. Wicke is based in Berlin, where her research focuses on studying the evolution of parasitic plants and their interactions with hosts, as well as the evolution of early vascular plants.
