Heriades judaica Mavromoustakis, 1948 was assigned to the genus Protosmia by Griswold (1985). The examination of the female holotype in the Mavromoustakis collection at Nicosia (Cyprus) based on pictures kindly provided by Rémi Santerre revealed that H. judaica is an unusually large member of Heriades (Michenerella).
