Advance Notice: Donna Haraway @ Porny Days – Film & Art Festival

From November 24th to 26th, the 5th edition of the Porny Days – Film & Art Festival will take place at the Rifftraff Kino in Zurich. The festival will present over 50 films and will also be accompanied by performances.

On this occasion, the documentary “Donna Haraway: Storytelling for Earthly Survival” by Fabrizio Terranova will be projected on November 25th @18h10. After the projection and accompanied by Donna Haraway herself an interactive tour in Zurich is organised.

@ 21h15 at RaumStation: start of the performance (dance & sound) “Training Oktopus” by Christina Wüstenhagen und Wiebke Köplin.

Donna Haraway, one of the most influential figure in the contemporary artworld, is mainly known for her essay  “A Cyborg Manifesto” (1984), published in her book “Simians, Cyborgs, and Women: The Reinvention of Nature” (1991). This essay tries to deconstruct the socially constructed binary system man/woman with the intervention of the cyborg, an hybrid.
