Its main objective is to \u201ebuild up the teaching and learning capacity in higher education institutions in Switzerland.\u201c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ethz.ch\/en\/the-eth-zurich\/organisation\/departments\/educational-development-and-technology.html\">LET<\/a>, the ETH unit for Educational Development and Technology, has been a member for many years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfdn.ch\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethz.ch\/letblog\/files\/2019\/01\/LOGO-SFDN.png\" alt=\"SFDN Logo. A red sillouette of Switzerland with a white cross where the words SFDN Swiss Faculty Development Network appear. \" class=\"wp-image-650\" width=\"375\" height=\"152\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SFDN annual conference is where people involved in higher education from all around the country meet, present examples of their practice and discuss their conclusions for student learning. The title of this year\u2019s conference is \u201eHow research on learning contributes to university teaching practice\u201c and is intended to stimulate discussion on how robust investigations are needed to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching practices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prof. Dr. Springman, ETH Rector will welcome participants and Prof. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gess.ethz.ch\/en\/the-department\/people\/person-detail.html?persid=228842\"><strong>Dr. Manu Kapur<\/strong><\/a>, Chair of Learning Sciences and Higher Education at ETH Zurich will present the keynote address on the topic of: \u201eFrom the Science of Learning to the Design of Learning \u201c.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For a fuller description please <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfdn.ch\/activities\/conferences\/2019-2\/\">see the conference website.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ETH will host this year\u2019s Swiss Faculty Development Network\u2019s (SFDN) annual conference on 22 February 2019.
