Work at ETH starts in defined steps after running in emergency mode. This also applies to the online examinations. After long and in-depth discussions, it was clear \u2013 at everyone’s request \u2013 that the session examinations should take place with all of the expected restrictions due to the corona crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Above all the large, extraordinary examination rooms HG G1 and ONA E7 pose a significant challenge with their regular capacities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Development of a Room Concept<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In very close cooperation with the SSHE and LET departments, staff from the sections IT Services, ITS NET and ITS SDL discussed possibilities and scenarios for guaranteeing the number of examinees \u2013 especially for the very large examinations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A room concept was quickly developed, which allows online examinations to be carried out with sufficient minimum distance between the examination places. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was possible to realize the examination places, which were no longer available in the original rooms, in the workrooms ONA E16 and E25 for the time being. During regular operations, these are generally used by architecture students for model building. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special thanks also go out to all colleagues. Thanks to additional protective walls, network components and cabling for the infrastructure of the two rooms, the examinations can now definitely take place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After completion of the work in ONA, the examination rooms in the main building will be made «corona-ready» over the next few weeks, and additional rooms will be set up here as well with HG G1 and 3. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to the cooperation and outstanding innovative strength of all those involved, session examinations at ETH can take place in the form of online examinations, with only minimal restrictions compared to normal operations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
