Updates to the teaching support applications

Teaching support applications support new tutor systems and learning agreements.

New versions

Since 1 July, new versions of eDoz, LKW and myStudies have been available.

  • The most important updates include support for tutor selection and learning agreements
  • Entry of a tutor by the student in myStudies, confirmation by the tutor in eDoz or by the student registry office in LKW
  • Creation and amendment of learning agreements by students in myStudies, approval by the tutor in eDoz or by the student registry office in LKW

From the perspective of the students, the following functionality is available

  • Tutor selection: Depending on the programme, the students can select their preferred tutor themselves for their programme. After the tutor has agreed to this, the choice is fixed.
  • Learning agreement: If available in their programme, the students can plan their studies together with their tutors in such a way as to ensure they receive sufficient credits and a choice of subjects matching their personal interests is selected. Students will be provided with details about tutor selection and the learning agreements in connection with the new LKW version.

Academical services / Rector

The roll-out was possible despite the tight deadline. This extension is important for the ETH. Dr. Dieter Wüest, Head of Academic Services, expressed this as follows:

“With the introduction of the above-mentioned releases, we have been able to complete a significant step within the scope of our expansion of the LBA system. The functionality for learning agreements has been eagerly awaited by many departments for quite some time now. They will therefore all really appreciate the fact that it is now finally available.

I would like to thank everyone for their commitment, which ensured all applications could be rolled out on time, and I congratulate them on their outstanding performance. Even though we are used to it, I am fully aware that reliability in relation to IT projects is certainly not a matter of course, and hard work is needed at all times to ensure this.”

A personal word of thanks was also received from the rector on the same day.
