The lecture series starts on February 21st, 2014. Please join us for our Friday morning lecture on ‘Theory and Design in Contemporary Landscape Architecture’!

The lectures take place on Fridays, 8:00–9:45 am, HIL E3. They will be held in English or German. We are looking forward to a successful and exciting term!

Fabricate 2014_Conference

Organised by the Professorship for Architecture and Digital Fabrication of ETH Zurich in collaboration with the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London, FABRICATE 2014 is bringing together researchers and practitioners in design and making within architecture, construction, engineering, design, manufacturing, material and software design.

Reviewed by an international panel of experts, projects presented at the conference have been selected through a call for work. An international publication and exhibition will complement the conference. FABRICATE 2014 will disseminate selected work alongside a series of thematic essays by world leading architects and engineers. Submissions of all scales and stages of realisation have been welcomed.

On our second site visit, on 11th November, we met at Benken and walked down the hill, to  Linth valley. By the time we reached the canal we scanned a small area, using a drone.

Site Visit_01

On the 2nd of October, we had our first visit on the site. We began biking from the “Walensee” along the “Linth Canal” to the Lake of Zurich. The “Linthebene” is the design site for the current  MAS LA program, to which we have already applied and tested different designing tools.

DLA: Digital Landscape Conference 2014 in Zurich

DLA“Landscape Architecture and Planning: Developing Digital Methods in GeoDesign”   hosted by Prof. Christophe Girot and Prof. Dr. Adrienne Grêt-Regamey

The 15th International Conference on Information Technology in Landscape Architecture: Digital Landscape Architecture DLA 2014 will be held in Zurich, Switzerland, 21 May – 23 May, 2014. Continuing with the series on GeoDesign, the conference’s main theme is “Landscape Architecture and Planning: Developing Digital Methods in GeoDesign”. Keynote presentations, lectures and workshops engaging an international audience will take up key thoughts on GeoDesign for developing them further in the discourse with the whole community pointing out needs for further research and improvement. Leading experts from science and practice are invited as keynote speakers and session chairs to highlight the state-of-the-art from different perspectives and to guide focused discussions.
