(No analysis had been done between grades and quiz performance.)<\/p>\n<h3>Students&#8217; Feedback<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Question bank had low relevance to exam questions<\/li>\n<li>Quality of questions &#8211; the more the students used the pool, the better they rated the questions<\/li>\n<li>Students would appreciate question banks for further topics\/areas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Status Quo<\/h3>\n<p>Up to now, after the exam this year (Summer 2014), more than 9&#8217;000 quizzes have been solved.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Spin-off project<\/h2>\n<h3>Exercise physiology question bank<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>320 questions designed by students<\/li>\n<li>All revised by Prof. Ch. Spengler (ETHZ)<\/li>\n<li>14 (resp. 28) quizzes<\/li>\n<li>Only students that provided questions had access to the <strong>revised <\/strong>questions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Result<\/h3>\n<p>Usage was similar to the Physiology question bank. Again we do not have a correlation between how often they used the quizzes and their grade but&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>&#8230;how well they performed in the quizzes was a <span style=\"color: #008080\">reliable indicator<\/span> of how well they performed in the exam.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Formative assessments are therefore helpful for students as their learning progress is made apparent.
