The competition lasts for 5 hours and consists of 5 to 10 problems. The allowed programming languages are the same as in official ICPC competitions &#8212; C, C++ and Java. Two teams are formed from the best six participants who are enrolled at ETH and meet the <a href=\"http:\/\/swerc.dsic.upv.es\/docs\/EligibilityDecisionTree2012.pdf\">Regional Contest eligibility requirements<\/a>. Those teams will represent ETH at the Regional Contest in Valencia. As in last year, we are glad to hold the contest together with EPFL in Lausanne (<a href=\"http:\/\/polyprog.epfl.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\">PolyProg<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Schedule of Local contest: 27 October 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>9:00<\/strong> Meeting in the VIS Bureau (<strong>CAB E 31<\/strong>), breakfast, late registration.<\/li>\n<li>9:45 Briefing, last questions, seat allocation.<\/li>\n<li>10:00 Contest starts (CAB H56\/H57).<\/li>\n<li>15:00 Contest ends.<\/li>\n<li>15:15 Announcement of results.<\/li>\n<li>15:30 Ap\u00e9ro.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please <strong>register <\/strong>for the contest here:<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/hc2.ch\/swerc\/\">http:\/\/hc2.ch\/swerc\/<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from the Local Contest we will host a short welcoming contest with a bit easier tasks on <strong>Octob<\/strong><strong>er 13<\/strong> and another full-length training contest on <strong>October 20<\/strong>. You may also just show up and register a few minutes before the start of the contest.<\/p>\n<div><strong>Rules<\/strong>: The local contest is a \u201eclosed-book\u201c competition. No materials are allowed, i.e., no books, cheat cheats, Internet etc. The <a href=\"http:\/\/doc.hc2.ch\">language references for C, C++ and Java<\/a> will be available. All CS students should be able to access the building with their Legis.
