Subgenus Orientosmia

The subgenus Orientosmia Peters is confined to the Palaearctic region. It contains a single species.

Nesting biology: Unknown.

Flower preferences: Possibly mesolectic on Fabaceae and a still unknown taxon (Antirrhineae?); an important pollen source is Astragalus (A. Müller, unpublished, based on 16 pollen samples from 8 different localities).
