I like the idea of an "unmanaged world" very much, as it enriches the institute's IT offer with the choice to use a private machine with a used working environment. Further, the employee might prefer hardware and operating systems that are not supported by the managed environment. However, a short manuscript describing how the user can compensate the disadvantages of handling data in the unmanaged world might be helpful (e.g. how to establish a reasonable backup strategy with data managed on private devices). In addition, employees should be made aware of the clear disadvantages of bringing their own devices and leaving the comfort of the managed environment (e.g. no support).

All in all, the BYOD-offer would make the use of the IT infrastructure by far more liberal and address the topical trend of integrating private portable devices into the working environment.

I had the same issue and was pulling my hair out the same unattend.xml was working fine for other system.
This fixed it many thanks ... so many times you see post from people saying they have an issue and it's is the same as yours but then they post "Oh fixed it" without ever telling what the issue was.

Jacques,
Everything worked fine. Except that when Chrome is published, it opens but on top of the page is a tab which says "You are using an unsupported command-line flag: --no-sandbox. Stability and security will suffer." I can click the x button & close the comment. But do you know of any place while sequencing that this can be turned off? I checked under OPTIONS while sequencing, but couldn't find anything there.

Thanks,
Latha.

@ Adam
you have to change the profile folder adding the following parameters: -no-sandbox -user-data-dir=%USERPROFILE%\GoogleChrome (for example)

I had this problem too.

It seems that Chrome "hard codes" the location for the user's configuration file. You might have noticed that when you run the Chrome.exe from Q: it creates files in the profile (again).

Thankfully Chrome supports command line parameters so you can override the default profile directory setting when you create the shortcut. My shortcut has the target modified to this

Q:\GChrome.v01\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe --user-data-dir="Q:\GChrome.v01\Google\Chrome\User Data"

Hope this helps.
