Since 1999 Scientific curator of the Entomological Collection of the ETH Zurich.

1997 to 1999 Teacher for biology at the Kantonsschule Zürcher Oberland, Wetzikon.

1995 to 1998 Scientific collaborator in an environmental protection agency and freelancer in nature conservation projects.

1995 Postdoc project at the Institute of Systematic Botany of the University of Zurich on “Use of extrafloral trichome secretions for nest impregnation in Anthidium bees“.

1992 to 1994 Doctoral thesis at the Institute of Systematic Botany of the University of Zurich on “Flower specializations and morphological adaptations for pollen uptake in solitary bees” under the supervision of C.U. Kramer, P.K. Endress and R. Wehner.

1991 to 1992 Project on the conservation of endangered plant and insect species in Northern Switzerland.

1984 to 1990 Basic studies in zoology and systematic botany at the University of Zurich with a diploma thesis on “Faunistisch-ökologische Untersuchungen an Wildbienen im Schaffhauser Randen” under the supervision of V. Ziswiler and G. Bächli.
